Oh yes, it’s starting. The terrible twos are still five months away, and twice we have had to remove an unruly child from a restaurant in the past two weeks. Last week it was Claire, who stood up in her high chair and then stiff-legged herself so much that I couldn’t get her back into [...]

18-month appointment

Claire and Ronin had their 18-month appointment today even though they are almost 19 months old. They are nearly over their colds and they had their ears checked to rule out infection. They demonstrated very healthy yells for the doctor. They seem to be getting more and more unhappy with every visit, and this time [...]
Studying, sick

I’ve been trying to study for a test for the past few weeks, which is one of the reasons we didn’t make elaborate birthday or anniversary plans and why I haven’t made an entry this week. My test was on Thursday, and I miraculously passed. I had planned on studying in the evenings after the [...]

We went out to dinner and Justin gave Ronin a lime wedge to chew on because he loves them. Well, Ronin wouldn’t give it up when dinner came, and kept turning his head away and keeping his mouth closed. Eventually, Justin had to open his mouth and fish the lime out, and Ronin gagged a [...]
Happy Valentine’s Day!

We made Valentine’s Day cards for our relatives. We started out with putting red ink on Ronin’s hand and putting a handprint on the cards. I didn’t get a picture of that, because I was busy trying to make sure red ink didn’t get everywhere. Then the twins put stickers on the cards.
They both really [...]

I came home yesterday to find artwork on the refrigerator! I got them crayons for Christmas, and they have been gradually learning that crayons are for drawing and not for eating (although they still get confused about that sometimes). I have some modeling clay too, but haven’t dared to get that out yet.
Do you remember [...]
Claire told her first lie and Ronin fell out of the crib

I guess I can categorize it as a milestone. “Claire, do you need a diaper change?” She shakes her head. “No?” Whew (waving my hand in front of my nose). That was a big lie! And she does it every time. Only for the really bad ones. She’s been really funny for the poopy diapers. [...]
Non-stop hugging and thinking about potty-training

Last weekend I did the major grocery expedition without Justin and I went early to avoid the crowds. I had Claire and Ronin side-by-side in a grocery cart built for two and the expedition was going well. About halfway through my list, Ronin spontaneously leaned over, wrapped his arms around Claire, and hugged her. Claire [...]
Toddler fears and other things

This is a very long and rambling entry, since it was written over the course of several days due to certain babies ~ who shall remain unnamed ~ not napping much, or at all, or at least not at the same time.
Claire, our intrepid explorer, has been getting fearful lately. It was right around our [...]
