You will all be happy to know, I’m sure, that the babies received a clean bill of health at their appointment.  They are not anemic and their lead levels were normal.  We got tested early because they are very mobile and we live in a very old house.  I keep my eye out for chipping [...]

We are going to visit my dad in Wyoming in a few weeks.  We have been reading up on travel tips.  Today I put aside some toys to take out on the plane so they’ll be exciting for them again.
Due to some airline regulations and safety standards, Justin and I are not allowed to sit [...]

Justin is at another conference this week, so I get to be a single mom again. What it means is that I start getting ready for bed about 30 minutes earlier, and I wake up at 4 AM instead of 4:30, because I don’t have Justin here to help get the babies ready while I [...]

My dad called me the other night to let me know it was okay, and even beneficial to let them eat grass… er, dirt. He said it’s good for their immune systems.  He did mention that we should avoid areas  high in animal traffic, in case of parasites, and I thought of weed killer and [...]

Claire is walking!

Today, at 9 months and 3 weeks exactly, Claire started walking.  She just took six steps on her own, five times in a row.  The latest time she finished with two little hops, as if to add her own distinctive flourish.  I can’t wait until Justin comes home and sees it!

Heat wave

Justin’s been working late this week and I told him it was all for the best yesterday, as it was over 90 degrees in the house by the afternoon. At least he had air conditioned comfort in his office. The babies and I have been running the ceiling fans, wearing light clothing, and they even [...]

Mother’s Day

Justin and I had started a Mother’s Day tradition in the past two years of going for a walk in the park and having a picnic. It was a little more complicated this year, because our babies were not as easily contained and because it was an extended family event. We compromised and had a [...]
