Both babies weighed the same today–7 pounds, 15.5 ounces. Ronin has managed to catch up to his sister! Claire, smiling at me in this picture, is much more tolerant of the scale than Ronin. Ronin expressed his opinion through urine, as usual.

Four weeks old

They turned four weeks old yesterday. They are just starting to smile socially, instead of randomly. That night they both slept for a five-hour stretch (miraculous!), probably because they’d been awake and eating constantly from 6 PM until midnight. Justin’s paper is ready to be submitted, so he took a rare day off and we went to the Rose Garden for a picnic. The babies saw their first ants and Justin did his first outdoor diaper change.

The babies were two weeks old yesterday, and are celebrating getting older by staying up all night and partying. Justin’s mom is due to arrive tonight and my mother is planning on arriving tomorrow. We are going to have a full house very soon!

First bath

Their cords fell off two days ago, so I decided to give them their first bath today. Neither paid much attention to the actual bathing, but both squawked a little when they got out.
